Is RPMS Suspended? Teachers Need Clear Guidance on EO61
President Marcos signed Executive Order 61, which suspends the Results-based Performance Management System (RPMS) evaluations for the current school year, 2023-2024. Despite this clear directive, confusion has arisen due to a circulating statement allegedly from the Department of Education’s Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development. Dated June 13, 2024, the statement suggests that while the RPMS is not suspended, the Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) and the Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) are.
Adding to the confusion, some school principals are still asking teachers to submit their RPMS portfolios and other documents by July. Teachers are now unsure whether to follow their school principal’s requests or adhere to the President’s Executive Order.
Teachers urgently need a definitive answer on the status of the RPMS. If it is not truly suspended, they need to know soon so they can prepare their portfolios and other necessary documents for evaluation. Clear communication is essential to ensure that all teachers understand their responsibilities and can comply with the required procedures without unnecessary stress. – Mark | Helpline PH
