A Cebuano couple went viral online after they graduated elementary together. These couples earn the respect of many because of their perseverance. Their story went viral online after they graduated from ALS.
Edgardo Dela Torre and Rochelle Dela Torre are both from Dalaguete, Cebu. The couple graduated elementary under DepEd’s Alternative Learning System (ALS). This Cebuano couple indeed has more that the naked eye sees.
Edgardo who is 41 years old is a hollow block maker and a barangay tanod while his wife Rochelle is 39. They studied in the ALS Program as elementary-level learners. They started in 2020 up to 2021. They finally got their diplomas during their face-to-face graduation.
“Silang dalawa ay may mataas na pananaw na makapagtapos ng pag-aaral upang mabigyan nila ng magandang buhay ang kanilang mga anak gaano man kahirap ang maaari nilang madaanan,” photographer Aneza Cayme captioned the photo.
“Kahit may edad na [inabot nila] ang mga pangarap sa buhay at binigyan nila ng malaking halaga ang edukasyon,” she added.
This Cebuano couple proved that age will not matter when you seek for knowledge. Education does not choose gender or age as long as someone is willing to learn.
ALS is a big help for these kinds of learners. This is a manifestation that everybody can achieve something if they want it and work for it. This Cebuano couple is an inspiration to all the students in all aspects.
