List of struggles a new teacher applicant will experience upon applying for DepEd

“Many are called, but few are chosen.” Somehow this adage gives light and truth to the experiences of teacher applicants and their struggles before they actually become a certified Public School Teacher. An education student, after taking the board exam and passing it will surely try his/her luck in DepEd since this is the biggest sector that will hire teacher applicants nationwide. There is of course an option if someone wishes to try first in the private schools before trying the luck in the government but most applicants are more eager to put their luck in DepEd.

Did you ever think that teachers landed on their items just easily? Well, to tell you the truth, teacher applicants who wish to enter DepEd should take all necessary preparations during the selection process. As an applicant, there are more struggles which constitute to being a successful teacher. This article will give you a list of all the struggles the teacher applicants will face before landing the position as Teacher I in DepEd.

Below is the list of struggles each teacher experienced prior to getting their dream job:

1. ACQUIRE FROM THE DIVISION OFFICE THE LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

Not only one, but many requirements will be needed in order to submit an application. Most applicants are fresh graduates which means no source of income yet so the easiest mean to comply all from the list is to ask for money from the parents, the least.

2. COMPLY ALL THE LISTED REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

An applicant should comply all that are listed in the requirements and submit it before the due date for submission. Failure to comply means no chance for the application.

3. SUBMIT APPLICATION LETTER TOGETHER WITH ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR EVALUATION TO THE SCHOOL YOU WISHED TO APPLY

After complying, an applicant should submit all the needed documents for evaluation. This include all the certificates you gathered from any seminars that will boost your rank (NCII, III from TESDA is an edge). The thicker your application is, the higher the rate of being ranked 1.

4. WAIT FOR FURTHER SCHEDULE FOR THE INTERVIEW, DEMO , SKILL TEST, AND EPT

This time around, all applicants will try to wait for their schedule (usually done by District) to properly be evaluated by a panel of ranked officials from DepEd.

5. PREPARE PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY FOR THE INTERVIEW, DEMO AND SKILLTEST AND EVEN THE EPT

When a schedule is given, an applicant starts to prepare for the long battle of the brains and wit. You have to sell yourself verbally, physically and emotionally in front of the panel.

6. WAIT FOR THE RESULT OF THE RANKING

This time around, an applicant will be very nervous while waiting for the result. Of course everybody wants to be in. An applicant will be very eager to know his/her rank (since those on the high ranks will be hired first). –“Patience is a virtue.”

7. AFTER THE RESULT OF THE RANKING, FOLLOW UP FOR POSSIBLE EMPLOYMENT

This is now the time when an applicant will have to ask if she/he will be hired and where is the possible place for assignment.

8. IF LUCKILY HIRED, GET LIST OF REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYMENT

After crying a bucket of tears of joy because of being hired, the applicant will surely be given another list of requirements for employment (which includes the medical documents, personal identification docs etc) which will be a proof that DepEd hired people with good moral. –“

9. COMPLY ALL THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR EMPLOYMENT

An applicant will be very happy to comply all the needed documents (some will really resort to debt, to comply the necessary tests required).

10. SUBMIT  NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR EVALUATION

Submit all necessary documents and sometimes, documents will be rejected because the staff needs more accurate documents that is needed which means you will need to comply it again without hesitation (example if your TOR is not updated etc.).

11. AFTER COMPLETION, ASK FOR THE DESIGNATED SCHOOL WHERE YOU’LL BE ASSIGNED

Then right after all your pertinent papers were accepted, you will now ask for the school where you will be assigned. Sometimes an applicant will be assigned in island schools but no choice is given except to accept the offer (since job is what you are looking for). –“Strike while the iron is hot.”

12. AFTER THE ASSIGNMENT, VISIT THE SCHOOL FOR PROPER INTRODUCTION FROM THE PRINCIPAL BEFORE STARTING

Now the applicant will be much happier since he/she got the item which means “security”.

13. GOODLUCK! AFTER ALL THE LONG PROCESS OF WAITING AT LAST THIS IS IT!

Happy teaching and good luck!

And that’s it folks! If you think teachers just landed their jobs that easily, you are mistaken for blood and sweat and tears were the flesh given by teachers in order to enter DepEd. – Clea | Helpline PH
