DepEd Still Pushing for Salary Increase of Teachers
The Department of Education emphasizes that it’s fully committed, particularly in matters concerning teachers’ welfare. Usec Epimaco Densing III states that they regularly visit and remain actively involved in their roles, diligently working under the guidance of Vice President and Secretary Sara Duterte. He also mentions their ongoing efforts to combat corruption within the department. As for raising teachers’ salaries, DepEd is eager to see this happen.
However, he notes that the decision largely relies on the Department of Budget and Management. If a direct salary increase isn’t possible, the department is exploring alternative ways to support teachers, even through non-monetary means.
