Public School Teachers PERA: From P2,000 To P8,000

Ang Probinsyano Partylist Rep. Alfred delos Santos has filed a bill that seeks to increase the personal economic relief allowance (PERA) of public school teachers.

The House Bill 6239 will increase teachers’ PERA from P2,000 to P8,000.

“The State, through this increase, will be able to demonstrate its full commitment in enhancing and uplifting the living and working conditions of its employees, particularly in the field of education,” delos Santos said in his explanatory note.

Delos Santos that the government has to make sure that education gets the highest priority when it comes to budgetary requirements.

He added that giving teachers ample compensation will help attract and keep top-tier teaching professionals.

Delos Santos said funding for the increased allowance will come from the General Appropriations Act.

House Bill 6239 mandates the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education, in coordination with the Department of Budget and Management, to promulgate rules and regulations for the desired increase.

  1. The most rewarding post I’ve gone through this days that may reenergize the stressful life of a teacher, especially those teachers included in the Pilot tasting of Face to Face classes. Sana, all of our legislators back up this bill to become a law, para Naman maibsan ang hirap Ng Buhay Ng mga Teachers in the LOWER RANKS na Kung susuriin, ang may pinakamaraming ginagawa sa school.

We are the suport staffs behind the scenes.

This is as good as the t4-t7 plan of the DepEd.
Any of the two will be of great help to teachers especially now that the prime commodities are also increasing.
Hoping that the our government will value us/teachers just like the uniform personnel and the nurses.

I hope that our officials in the government will see the flight of teachers through the years, and most especially at this pandemic time. Our salary is not yet enough due to the higher prices of commodities. Our tax is still high. We hope that they will act on this bill in the soonest of time.

May this filed bill be approved the soonest. Commodities and bills are increasing twice and trice to tje amount increase for the teachers salary. Please try to calculate more or less 1k per day lang ang sahod ng teachers. Eh paano nalang kng may loan? Dahil may pinaaral na?

  13. Sana maaproved ito kz allowance yan non tax db? Di lng makakatulong para gumaan ang buhay ng pamilyang guro but also mlaking bagay na para sa approved scheme na 15/30 n sahod ng guro and wg na din isali sa net loanble amount.

  14. Melanie Bigcas

  15. Mary Grace

If this county wants change, compensate teachers properly. Only then can we see remarkable changes in the lives of the citizens as molded by a happy and satisfied teacher.

  17. i hope this bill will be approved the soonest possible..it is a big help to us,to our family..

  18. A big yes for that! Hoping for the support of those people in yhe higher ups.

    1. christine june malicse

  20. Aileen Bambo

So many law makers specially nearing election period had push to increase the salary and allowances like PERA and ACA but none has been approved. Also a lot of politician promise to increase teacher salary but if it wasnt to standardization of gov. Salary teacher would not receive a little increase so little after taxed, it cant even buy 10 kilos of first class rice. We wonder why you are so hesistant to give what is due for is teachers. Politician who promise teachers salary increased dont deserve a seat in the gov. surely it isjust a promise.

Tsk..tsk..tsk..
