Taiwan now hires Pinoy English teachers
Around 450 Filipino English teachers may soon be hired in Taiwan.
This is after its Ministry of Education (MOE) launched the Taiwan Foreign English Teacher Program (TFETP).
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that there is a recruitment of foreign English teachers and teaching assistants in Taiwan.
“For 2022, MOE is opening 450 teaching positions in public schools to foreign English teachers,” said DOLE.
“This is in order to establish an English-speaking environment for primary and secondary students, as well as enhance the local teachers’ English teaching skills,” it added.
Monthly salary starts at NT$62,720 or P115,122.25, with the rate to be based on the teacher’s highest educational level and years of full-time teaching experience, DOLE said.
Some of the benefits are travel subsidy, health insurance, and other benefits.
Qualifications are proficient English speakers with a bachelor’s degree or higher, and must have no criminal record.
State-issued teaching license or credentials is not needed by the MOE.
Teachers who are interested may apply online at https://tfetp.epa.ntnu.edu.tw, said DOLE.
Recruitment for 2022 is open until March 31, 2022, added DOLE
