Gospel: Luke 6:27-38
‘But I say to you that listen, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. If anyone strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also; and from anyone who takes away your coat do not withhold even your shirt. Give to everyone who begs from you; and if anyone takes away your goods, do not ask for them again. Do to others as you would have them do to you.
‘If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. If you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the wicked. Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
‘Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back.’

Reflection:
Our gospel for today is from Luke 6:27-38 and these talks about loving our enemies. If you are a true Christian who understands the scriptures, you can love your enemy no matter what.
But, isn’t that hard to love someone who you don’t even like in he first place? This is now the struggle we all have to face if we want to follow Him. “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.” This is what God is telling us.
So, how can we follow the gospel in Luke 6:27-38? Loving our enemy means we have to try not to do bad things otherwise. If you enemy throw a stone at you, you need to throw a bread in return. This means you have to be patient and not indulge in the temptation of revenge.
Do good to others who are bad at you, if you will keep this then you will gain the heavens at your side. The Kingdom of Heaven will not reward you because you love those who love you. Instead, try to love your enemy and be good to them. In any way, they will melt their hearts and be kinder as well.
We have to help others without expecting a return. Every time we help someone, we must not help because we wanted to gain something. We will help without restraint anytime as long as we can.
The real lesson in the gospel from Luke 6:27-38 is that we learn to do things without any reward. Give to others what you have even in little ways. Pray for the sinners that they will return to God. Do good to others even if they are not good to you. Help the poor for they are the most loved by God.
