2023 Holidays in the Philippines: Malacañang Declares Regular Holidays for Holy Week and Araw ng Kagitingan
The Malacañang Palace has declared April 6(Thursday) and April 7, 2023 (Friday) as regular holidays to commemorate the Holy Week.
The Day of Valor, which falls on April 9, 2023(Sunday), was also declared a regular holiday and has been moved to April 10, 2023(Monday).
Maundy Thursday and Good Friday are observed as part of the Holy Week, which is an important religious event for Filipinos. On these days, many people participate in religious activities, such as attending masses or processions.
Meanwhile, Araw ng Kagitingan commemorates the bravery and sacrifices of Filipino and American soldiers during the Battle of Bataan in World War II. It is a regular holiday in the Philippines, which means that it is a paid day off for many employees.
