Medical Allowance DepEd: Teachers Must Receive Their Cash by August 31, 2025!

Great news, mga Ka-Teachers! The Department of Education (DepEd) has officially released a memorandum ordering all Regional Offices (ROs) and Schools Division Offices (SDOs) to immediately process and release the Medical Allowance for all eligible DepEd employees. The disbursement will be in cash through payroll, and the deadline is August 31, 2025.

This is based on DepEd Order No. 16, s. 2025 which sets the Guidelines on the Grant of Medical Allowance. This is part of the Individual Availment mode where teachers and personnel who submitted the correct form—Annex A—are entitled to the benefit.

Let’s break down everything you need to know in simple terms 👇

What Is the DepEd Medical Allowance?

The Medical Allowance DepEd provides financial help to DepEd personnel to cover medical expenses. It’s given once certain forms and requirements are submitted. This year, the process is being fast-tracked so eligible employees can receive their cash before the end of August 2025.

Who Will Get the Medical Allowance?

You are qualified if:

  • You are a DepEd employee (teacher or non-teaching staff).
  • You submitted the Annex A form.
  • You chose the Individual Availment mode.
  • You followed the required steps and submitted on time.

If all of these are done, then you should expect the cash to be released via payroll this August.

Deadline: August 31, 2025

All Regional and Division Offices were officially directed to make sure that all qualified personnel receive their medical allowance by August 31, 2025.

To speed things up, ROs and SDOs may use Personnel Services (PS) funds to frontload the payment.

What Happens If You Don’t Receive It?

DepEd has reminded everyone that failure to submit the required documents may result in the withholding of your medical allowance next year. That’s why it’s important to complete everything correctly now.

Also, personnel who got the allowance must still submit supporting documents and reports once available. These are needed for auditing and financial review.
