DepEd Tops Trust and Performance Ratings in Q1 Survey

In the latest survey conducted by OCTA Research, the Department of Education (DepEd) has been ranked as the most trusted and best performing government agency in the Philippines. The survey, called Tugon ng Masa, took place from March 11 to March 14, 2024, and involved 1,200 participants. The results show that DepEd leads with an impressive 82 percent trust rating.

Following DepEd in the trust rankings were the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the Department of Health (DoH), each scoring 79 percent. The Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) also performed well, with trust ratings of 73 percent and 71 percent, respectively.

The survey highlighted that the highest trust ratings for DepEd came from the Mindanao region, where it reached an impressive 94 percent. Among different socioeconomic classes, class D and E participants showed high trust in DepEd with ratings of 85 percent and 71 percent, respectively.

In terms of performance, DepEd also topped the charts with an 84 percent rating, indicating strong approval of their work in the first quarter of 2024. They were closely followed by the DoH with 80 percent, DSWD with 77 percent, CHEd with 73 percent, and DPWH with 72 percent. Remarkably, DepEd’s performance ratings soared to 95 percent in Mindanao, and it was particularly high among respondents from the lowest socioeconomic class E, with a rating of 89 percent.

The survey’s margin of error is plus or minus three percent, lending credibility to these results. This high trust and performance rating reflects the public’s appreciation of DepEd’s efforts in delivering quality education and effective administration.
