The Department of Education secures National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) support for using televisions and radios as modes of delivering education amid pandemic.
“The Department is determined to strengthen education delivery through television, whether it is through commercial broadcast TV networks, free channels, government-owned TV stations, and even cable TV networks,” Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said.
The department requested, through NTC Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba, the different tv, radio and cable operators to broadcast educational material and instruction from DepEd as part of Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP).
NTC, on the other side, issued a memorandum reminding the operators of television, radio and cable that it is there obligation to allocate free time intended for education.
