Teachers’ Group to DepEd: Work-From-Home For Teachers is still in place

The Teachers’ Dignity Coalition urged the Department of Education to remind schools and Schools Division Offices that the work-from-home scheme for teachers is still in effect.

“‘Yung ilang schools/SDOs [School Division Office] sa Region 3 & Region 4A na nagpapasok sa teachers physically, relax, ‘wag ninyo nang dagdagan ang exposure ng tao para hindi matulad dito sa NCR. Remote modalities ang teaching, remember?” TDC Chairperson Benjo Basas said.

Basas made the call after some teachers revealed that some schools in Central Luzon and Region IV-A need their teachers to report physically.

“Calling the attention of DepEd Central Office, Madam Leonor Magtolis Briones, please make a public announcement that work from home scheme is still the default set-up for classroom teachers performing online and modular distance learning modalities!” Basas added.

The group said that the work-from-home scheme will still be the default set-up for teachers until the national emergency declared due to the Covid19 pandemic is lifted.
