DepEd should hire more teachers

Former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista said that the government should hire more teachers.

“Preparations for our children’s education should be as focused as preparations for the national elections. If Covid19 cases will continue to be low, it will eventually end the longest physical closure of schools in our history,” Bautista said.

Bautista said that there should be enough classrooms and teachers as the department resume face-to-face classes.

“Kailangan may sapat na bilang ng classrooms at teachers, bagong libro, at mga kumpletong kagamitan,” he said.

Bautista urged DepEd to spend its “mega allotment” in the 2022 national budget.

“The DepEd has in its disposal P3.18 billion for new classrooms and laboratory this year,” he said.
