Parañaque to purchase P300M worth of gadgets for students and teachers

Another local government unit gives support to the Department of Education in its mission to continue delivering education despite the presence of pandemic threats.

Mayor Olivarez says Parañaque LGU to purchase P300 million worth of tablets for Kinder and Grade 1 students. 300 laptops will also be given to public school teachers when school reopens in August this year.

There is no allocation for high school students yet.

Rest assured this will be a great help to students especially for those who cannot afford to buy for themselves. And also, laptops are needed by teachers in facilitating learning with this new normal education.

Thanks, Mayor Olivarez, and to Parañaque local government unit.

On the other hand, DepEd stressed that there is no need to buy for gadgets if parents can’t afford it because DepEd will provide printed materials to students.

DepEd said earlier that opening of classes is scheduled on August 24 but it does not require face-to-face classes.
