Lawmaker urges PHSA to fire manyakis teachers

P3PWD PARTY-LIST Representative Rowena Guanzon asked the Philippine High School for the Arts to fire the teachers involved in the alleged sexual harassment of students.

Guanzon promised to examine the PHSA’s budget for the next school year.

“[PHSA], fire your manyakis teachers. I will scrutinize your budget next year,” Guanzon said on Twitter.

She made the statement after international news agency Vice published a report on the alleged “continuous” sexual harassment of students in the school.

Based on report, the harassment were committed by faculty members and school personnel.

The PHSA earlier issued a statement saying that it is not fair to generalize the institution as a haven of abuse.
