DepEd overjoyed on the approval of creating new position for teacher
The Department of Education appreciated President Rodrigo Duterte for approving the creation of new position titles for teachers.
“The Department of Education is jubilant about the timely issuance of Executive Order No. 174 titled Establishing the Expanded Career Progression System for Public School Teachers,” the agency said in a statement.
The EO creates five new position titles — Teacher IV, Teacher V, Teacher VI, Teacher VII, and Master Teacher V.
It seeks to promote the professional development and career advancement of public school teachers.
“DepEd, which is coincidentally celebrating its 124th founding anniversary today, is grateful to President Rodrigo Duterte for this monumental policy that will expand the classroom teaching career line and provide merit-based career progression opportunities,” it added.
DepEd said it will work with the Civil Service Commission, the Department of Budget and Management, and the Professional Regulation Commission in crafting the rules and regulations of the EO.
It pledged to create programs to make sure that teachers are always motivated in giving quality education.
