Senate approves the proposed 4.1 Trillion 2020 national budget
The 4.1 Trillion proposed 2020 national budget was already approved on the third and final reading by 20 – 0 votes last Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
The chairman of the Senate finance committee, Sen. Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara was the one who leads the Senate contingent in the bicameral body.
Only Sen. Manny Pacquiao and Sen. Laila de Lima are not around to cast their votes.
Sen. Sonny Angara presented the proposed national budget along with amendments they had made during the previous session. One of the amendments is the additional P6 billion for the Department of Education’s Last Mile Schools program and to fund the proposed raise in the Teacher Salary Subsidy.
“Funds for the next round of salary increases of government employees were also provided”, Angara said.
