In an interview with GSIS President and General Manager Rolando Ledesma Macasaet on DZRH News TV, he mentioned that GSIS is on the preparation of the infrastructure of the availability of emergency loan application online.
According to Macasaet, this will be the first time that they will offer an emergency loan nationwide. This will require a big amount of money to be realized.
In a computation, GSIS has total members of 2 million multiplied by 20 thousand which is the amount of emergency loan, so they needed 40 billion, more or less. Another thing that makes this hard to urgently implement is that their employees are working from home. But rest assured that they are working on it, and every member could apply the said loan with very minimal amount of interest.
General Macasaet said in the statement, that they are doing their best that this will be available after holy week.
