DOST now opens 2021 Junior Level Science Scholarship Program
The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) announced that it is opening the applications for its 2021 Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) Program.
“DOST-SEI is pleased to announce the opening of applications to the 2021 Junior Level Science Scholarships (JLSS),” it wrote on Facebook.
But also noted that E-Scholarship Application System has yet to be activated.
DOST said the system may be used “in a few days.” “But, in the meantime, you’ll need to prepare several documents before you start filing your E-application.”
There is no schedule yet for the start of online application while the last day of online application and uploading of requirements is set on Oct. 29, 2021.
Who can apply?
The PSHS said applicants must be regular third year college students enrolled in a priority S&T courses at identified universities as of First Semester of Academic Year 2021-2022, and meet the following conditions:
- Must have a general weighted average of at least 83 percent or its equivalent and with no conditional or failing mark in the first two years in college including in the midyear terms, if enrolled;
- Must be natural-born Filipino citizen;
- Must be of good moral character and in good health; and
- May have taken the DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination before but did not pass or have qualified for the DOST-SEI Undergarduate Scholarship but did not avail the scholarship award.
“The JLSS Program aims to provide scholarships that will finance the education of talented and deserving students in their third year of college and who are pursuing degree programs in the areas of science and technology; and ensure a steady, adequate supply of qualified S&T human resources who can steer the country towards national progress,” the DOST-SEI said.
