DepEd hopes all teachers will be willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19
The Department of Education expressed positivity that all of its personnel will be willing to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
“The hope is all but it will all depend on the willingness of the person and supply of the vaccine,” Undersecretary for Planning, and Human Resource and Organizational Development Jesus Mateo said.
DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del Pascua said that the department is “still integrating the vaccination data and compiling the master lists” prepared by Schools Division Offices (SDOs).
Based on the data presented by DepEd’s Planning Service there are 986, 852 personnel in DepEd as of February 2021. 862, 108 hold teaching positions; 62, 465 hold positions related to teaching; and 62, 279 non-teaching positions.
DepEd also noted that 51 percent of its personnel are under the age bracket of 20 to 39; 45 percent are ages 40 to 59; and 4 percent are ages 60 and above.
