Private teachers appeal for a financial assistance from the government

Most of our private teachers are contractual or in no work no pay basis. They deserve to be included on the social amelioration program (SAP) of the government. But, DSWD excluded private and public teacher on their list.

Private schools are not considered as part of Micro- Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), they do not qualify to amelioration program.

This leads to several complains coming from our private teachers to our government asking financial assistance amid this enhanced community quarantine.

Read an open letter of a private teacher asking for help to DepEd:

As a matter of fact, Assistant Minority Leader, and at the same time, ACT Teachers Rep. France Castro plead to Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Education (DepEd) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) to help our dear teachers from the private sector.
