Periodical Exams No More – DepEd

Periodical Exams No More

The Department of Education (DepEd) on Monday announced that periodical exams will be eradicated amid pandemic to avoid cheating.

“We are dispensing with the periodical exams in our proposed revised policy on assessment of learning. We’ll do written outputs and performance tasks,” he said.

“This is the best time for us, so we are appealing to the parents, grandparents, and adults to help DepEd actually reinforce the value of honesty,” San Antonio added.

On the other hand, Education Secretary Leonor Briones insisted to push through the opening of classes as scheduled on October 5.

“It’s a huge challenge but if you wait until you are absolutely ready, by the time we feel we have certain problems already under control, there will be new challenges,” Briones on opening,” she said.

DepEd will adopt distance learning modalities like modular, online, tv and radio-based learning as face-to-face learning is prohibited amid COVID19 pandemic.
