DepEd warns against illegal solicitation
The Department of Education (DepEd)-Office of the Undersecretary for Finance warned the public against individuals or groups misrepresenting its office for solicitation.
In an advisory, DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla said her office has not authorized any person or entity to ask for donations.
“Please be informed that the Department of Education (DepEd) and its Executive Committee have not authorized any person or entity to solicit money for whatever purpose,” she said.
Sevilla noted that DepEd stakeholders must exercise vigilance.
“The Office of the Undersecretary for Finance alerts the public, especially the Finance Strand’s internal and external stakeholders, about individuals or entities communicating with them to illegally solicit money, request for contributions, or ask for donations using the name of said office and the undersigned,” she said.
“All concerned are hereby advised to be cautious and not to deal with unscrupulous person/s or entities asking for [a] donation, personal information, or account confirmation using the name of the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance, any DepEd Executive Committee or official, or any DepEd office,” she added.
The DepEd Finance Office also instructed concerned individuals to send their report to the DepEd Public Assistance and Action Center or directly to the Office of the Undersecretary for Finance via email at [email protected] or landline numbers (02)8636-1663 and (02)8633-3942; and [email protected] or (02)8633-3942, respectively.
