DepEd extends enrollment in public schools until July 15
The Department of Education announced on Tuesday that enrollment in public schools has been extended until July 15.
DepEd started the enrollment process on June 1, was supposed to close Tuesday, June 30.
“Ang mabuting balita po, mga magulang, extended po ang enrollment until July 15,” Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said in a Palace press briefing.
“Huwag naman ho hayaan na matigil ang proseso ng edukasyon ng ating mga anak bagaman may COVID-19,” he added.
Also, DepEd shall continue the remote and dropbox enrollment in public schools.
As of Tuesday morning, the DepEd reported around 15.2 million learners have registered in public schools.
Last year around 22 million were enrolled in public schools.
Department of Education earlier announced that opening of classes is scheduled on August 24 but it does not mean face-to-face classes.
