Public schools, to be considered as COVID-19 vaccination center

COVID-19 vaccination center

The Department of Education said on Tuesday that not all public school clinics and classrooms could be utilized as COVID-19 vaccination center.

Education Secretary Leonor Briones said the DepEd is coordinating with the Department of Health (DOH) about the proposed use of schools as vaccine center and emphasized that there are many things need to be consider.

So depende iyan sa situwasyon ng eskuwelahan,” Briones said.

Kung may quarantine center, we think twice about using them also as vaccination center, especially kung iyong campus iisa lamang,” she said.

Briones also denied that public school teachers are among those who would administer the vaccine.

“Dine-deny naming iyong perception na ang mga teacher ay sila mismo ang mag-vaccinate,” she said.
