11 public school teachers acquire COVID-19 after distributing modules
Eleven public school teachers in Ilagan City, Isabela tested positive for COVID-19 after they distributed self-learning modules.
The Department of Health (DOH) report stated 10 of the infected teachers were experiencing COVID-19 symptoms like headache and sore throat when taken to the city government’s quarantine facility.
The other teachers, who suffer fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing was admitted at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.
The DOH added that a 13-year-old boy, said to be a receiver of the module, was also tested positive for the virus.
The Department of Education (DepEd) said the teachers were task to distribute copies of modules as the department implements blended learning.
Isabela Gov. Rodolfo Albano III said he sees no reason for the provincial IATF to suspend classes since there are no face-to-face lessons while other teachers are waiting for the results of their swab test.
The governor recognized the sacrifices of teachers in this time of COVID-19 pandemic.
